What this course is
Every practical course at the Academy requires this module first. It establishes the professional safety foundation that every natural hair service is built on.
You will cover the key legislation governing salon environments — COSHH, RIDDOR and the Health and Safety at Work Act — alongside infection control, sterilisation of tools and equipment, correct use of PPE, risk assessment, and the correct procedures for reporting accidents and incidents.

Do I need any experience for this module?
No. It is open to every learner and assumes no prior training. It is the first thing we teach, and it is required before you take any practical course.
How long is it?
Half a day, three hours, running 9:00 to 12:30 on a Monday or Tuesday at our Stratford salon.
What do I leave with?
Course notes, an endorsed workbook and a certificate of completion naming the module and the date.
Can my salon pay for my place?
Yes. Tell us at checkout and we will invoice the salon directly.
